Introduction
The Bureau is responsible for all matters relating to the technical performance of the Sector companies and for ensuring the continued supply of water and electricity in the Emirate.
The technical regulation of the Sector companies draws upon the general duties of the Bureau set out in Article (54) of Law No (2) of 1998, as amended, to ensure the security of supply, guarantee the connection and supply to all consumers, provide health and safety guidance to the general public and to ensure the operation and development of a safe and efficient water and electricity sector in the Emirate
These objectives are achieved through issuance, monitoring and enforcement of compliance with licences granted to the sector companies and through the establishment, maintenance, review and monitoring of appropriate technical and performance standards.
